CMA to investigate the anticipated acquisition by Saint-Gobain of GCP Applied Technologies

The Competition and Markets Authority has announced it will investigate the anticipated acquisition of GCP Applied Technologies by Saint-Gobain.

Saint-Gobain announced they had entered into a definite agreement to acquire GCP in December 2021 in a deal worth approximately $2.3 billion (USD).

GCP Applied Technologies is headquartered in Georgia, USA with offices in almost 30 countries and sells chemicals and materials used in construction as well as sealants and coatings used in packaging.
