British Water announces Stephen Slessor, Managing Director of Galliford Try, as new UK Forum Chair

British Water, the UK trade association representing the interests of the UK water and wastewater supply chain, has announced the appointment of Stephen Slessor, Managing Director of Galliford Try, as the successful nominee for the position of UK Forum Chair.

Stephen will be ratified at the Annual General Meeting on the 27 July taking over from the current UK Forum Chair, Rachel Lewis, who will then become the Immediate Past Chair of the UK Forum.

Steve is a highly accomplished professional with a wealth of experience in the Water sector. Currently leading Galliford Try’s Environment £500m p/a business unit, Steve works with all UK mainland water companies as the largest Contractor in the Water Sector.

As an advisor to the Scottish Government on Infrastructure and a Visiting Professor in Digital Construction at Robert Gordon University, he is well-respected in his field and is known as a thought leader in the areas of water engineering, zero carbon, and digital transformation.

Throughout his career, Steve has demonstrated a strong ability to build and lead high-performing teams, driving growth and profitability while delivering results. He is known for his ability to develop innovative solutions and drive change in the industry.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Steve is also a dedicated mentor and coach to young professionals. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with others, and is committed to helping the next generation of water sector leaders succeed.
