Cenergist acquires Dutch installation company Vriend to support European growth plans

Water and energy efficiency company Cenergist has acquired a specialist Dutch installation company to accelerate its European expansion strategy.

Installatiebedrijf Vriend B.V. (Vriend) has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the company and will continue to operate under its own name. All values relating to the transaction are undisclosed.

Based in Emmeloord, Netherlands, Vriend employs eight people and provides installation support across a range of water supply, sewage, roofing and HVAC technologies.

To increase its customers’ water and energy efficiency, the company uses Cenergist’s Control Flow HL2024 technology.

The acquisition represents the latest move in Cenergist’s European growth strategy, which has seen the company appoint Fernando Padmos as its head of Netherlands.

Commenting on the deal, Fernando Padmos said:

“Vriend represents an established name in the Netherlands with a highly skilled team whose mission and values align strongly with Cenergist’s.

“This acquisition provides a springboard for our water and energy solutions in the Netherlands by leveraging Vriend’s strong, local accreditations. We are very pleased to have completed the deal and take the next step in accelerating our growth strategy in the Netherlands and wider Europe.”

Cenergist supports water companies, local authorities, social housing providers and commercial clients improve their energy and water efficiency and thereby cut their carbon emissions. As well as the UK and Holland, Cenergist also operates in Spain and India.

Following the acquisition, Vriend will focus on making social housing and utilities more sustainable within the Dutch market.
