New updates to Cadcorp SIS 9.1

Spatial insight company, Cadcorp has made substantial updates to its GIS software SIS 9.1. It brings a host of optimisations and enhancements to Cadcorp SIS Desktop, Cadcorp Cover Modeller, and Cadcorp SIS WebMap. This includes additional support for the Ordnance Survey National Geographic Database (OS NGD), map display customisation, and advanced cyber security.

Increased OS data support in SIS Desktop

Cadcorp is an Ordnance Survey Premium Partner and continues to provide additional support for OS data products in this service release. Support has been added for the OS NGD API – Tiles via the OS Data Hub. This includes the recently released Railway Links, Pavements, and Buildings features and enhanced data from the OS Emergency Services Gazetteer.

Access to the Environment Agency Real Time flood-monitoring API has been updated to support flood area and flood warning data in addition to measurement stations. For cartographic visualisation, data can be themed using the GOV.UK ‘Check for flooding’ website’s colourway.

Additional display options in Cover Modeller

A range of updates have been added to the Cadcorp emergency services dynamic cover application, Cover Modeller, including clustering and advanced vehicle labels in both Live and Scenario View.

Create more customised maps

The SIS WebMap user experience has been extended to allow the upload of point icons, and users can now reposition legends, and edit text fields within the print template.

Legends have been added to the Quick Access Drawer, allowing users to continually view map layers, groups, and legends while using the Feature Info functionality. The Query options have been updated to allow multiple overlays to be queried simultaneously, with results returned for each layer.

The online SIS WebMap administration manager now offers a broader range of options. This includes defining additional copyright text, changing zoom and resolution parameters, and configuring an adjustable pop-out dialog for displaying feature information.

Advanced security

As part of its cloud hosting service, Cadcorp offers advanced security testing options to mitigate crude denial-of-service (DoS) attacks and offers rate-limiting settings.

The service release also incorporates bug fixes, software updates and performance enhancements.
