Energy & Utility Skills invites reviews to help shape national standards for sewerage and drainage maintenance

Energy & Utility Skills is inviting employers, training providers and professional bodies to review the revised Sewerage & Drainage Maintenance National Occupational Standards (NOS).

NOS describe what an individual needs to do and needs to know to perform a work activity, including the skills, knowledge and understanding required. They can be applied across the UK and are used in developing in-house training programmes, and they are a key component for qualifications and apprenticeship frameworks.

With support and input from industry stakeholders, the Sewerage & Drainage Maintenance NOS suite has been updated to ensure they reflect current working practices within the industry.

Online Consultation – Get Involved

Following a series of industry workshops and drafting of the revised suite, Energy & Utility Skills is asking industry stakeholders from across the UK to review and comment on the NOS to ensure they reflect industry best practice.

The online consultation to provide feedback can be accessed here: Sewerage & Drainage Maintenance Online Consultation – until 5pm Friday 29 November 2024.

Scottish Qualification Review

Alongside the consultation on the draft NOS, and using the draft NOS as building blocks, Energy & Utility Skills is progressing with the review of the Sewerage Maintenance and Drainage Operations Scottish Qualification. An industry workshop is being arranged for Scottish stakeholders. To be involved, please email standardsreview@euskills.co.uk
