Property consultancy announces senior infrastructure promotions

Key figures in a leading property consultancy’s infrastructure team have received senior promotions as the firm targets substantial growth following a surge in client demand.

Fisher German has named George Simpson as its new Divisional Managing Partner for Infrastructure Services, while Laura Knight becomes a new Partner.

George and Laura are among 19 staff within Fisher German’s infrastructure services team to have been promoted after helping its clients in the electricity, water, gas and renewable sectors deliver on major projects nationwide.

George joined Fisher German in 2001, before becoming a partner in 2010. He has been a member of the firm’s leadership team for the last six years and headed its North West regional business until 2021, before leading the Infrastructure Consultancy department through a phase of rapid growth and short stint as sector head of utilities and infrastructure before his promotion.

He said: “With many of our key clients under pressure to deliver new Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, as well as expanding capital programme deliveries across the industry, the need for Fisher German to be at the top of our game is more important than ever.

“I’m really excited and honoured to take the helm of a fantastic business and look forward to maximising the opportunities Fisher German has ahead in what have been core markets for the firm for many decades.

“There will definitely be challenges ahead, but Fisher German is set to play a vital role in getting major infrastructure projects over the line and will grow significantly as a result.”

Laura has worked within the firm’s infrastructure services departments since she joined the business in 2015, following an initial placement in 2005.

Having worked with major infrastructure clients in both consultancy and management and maintenance, Laura now spends the majority of her time invested in LSBUD (LinesearchbeforeUdig), a joint venture between Fisher German and PelicanCorp.

Her promotion follows significant success in spearheading LSBUD’s marketing activities, including the success of its annual, National Damage Prevention Day conference, which is now in its seventh year.

Laura said: “I’m thrilled to have been announced as a new partner at Fisher German. It is a huge milestone in my career and one that I am extremely proud to have reached. I hope that my promotion also highlight’s the firm’s commitment to wide-ranging career pathways, following my transition across different departments and clients within the infrastructure sphere.

“LSBUD has an exciting year ahead following the recent acquisition of Select Surveys, and I am excited to be taking a lead in growing our safe digging service even further.”
