EFRA Committee to quiz Defra Secretary of State, Steve Reed, about Thames Water situation

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee (EFRA), which is appointed by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and its associated public bodies, will question Rt Hon Steve Reed MP, Secretary of State, Defra, in its next evidence session.

It will be a wide-ranging evidence session which will examine the work of the Department, topical issues, and future priorities, but the cross-party group of MPs has confirmed it is likely to pose questions to the Secretary of State on the UK-EU summit, questions on the water sector, and the situation at Thames Water.

Also to be quizzed are Defra’s David Hill, Director General for Strategy and Water, and Emily Miles, Director General for Food, Biosecurity and Trade.

The session will take place on Tuesday 20 May, at 11am, Committee room 6, Palace of Westminster, Houses of Parliament.
