South Staffordshire Plc, the integrated services Group that operates Cambridge Water and South Staffs Water, has announced it has appointed David Brown as Transformation Director, a newly-created role, for its two regulated water companies.

David brings over 20 years of experience in leading transformation and operational improvement across regulated, customer-focused utility sectors. His background includes developing long-term transformation strategies and leading large-scale change initiatives, with a focus on accelerating progress towards net-zero goals and enhancing operational performance.

Prior to this role, David held senior transformation and operational leadership positions at major UK utilities, and throughout his career, he has worked extensively with national engineering and field service teams to improve customer experience and deliver tangible value.

Elena Karpathakis, Managing Director of South Staffs Water, said:

“To achieve our business plan, we need to innovate, add value and think differently, and our new Transformation Director will support us in doing this, working with all areas of our business to elevate our customer, environmental and service performance.

“AMP8 presents many opportunities to improve our efficiency, continue to innovate and to drive transformation. I am confident David will make a great addition to the Executive team and help us bring these opportunities to life.”

David added: “I’m excited to join the team at South Staffs Water and Cambridge Water and to work closely with colleagues across the organisation to bring ambitious transformation plans to life. Delivering on our commitments to our people, customers, and the environment will take true collaboration — and I’m looking forward to doing this together.”

David started with the business on 2 June, 2025.
