Affinity Water has once again been recognised for its commitment to responsible tax conduct, securing the Fair Tax Mark accreditation for a seventh consecutive year.
Affinity Water says this independent accreditation reaffirms the company’s dedication to transparency, ethical tax practices, and public trust.
The Fair Tax Mark is the gold standard for corporate tax transparency, ensuring businesses pay the right amount of tax, at the right time, and in the right place.
Ocean Lam, Accreditation Officer at the Fair Tax Foundation, said:
“Tax transparency is a key element of fair tax because the more people can understand the mechanics, the better those tax operations will be. Affinity Water are an excellent example of a business that clearly explains their taxes and it is wonderful to be able to certify them with the Fair Tax Mark again this year.
“It is also excellent to be able to share the news during Fair Tax Week, an awareness-raising week highlighting the importance of fair tax and celebrating the businesses, local authorities and supporters upholding it.”
Affinity Water says its ongoing accreditation with the Fair Tax Mark reflects its long-term commitment to responsible and transparent business practices. In an industry where financial transparency is more important than ever, Affinity says its proud to set a positive example. Paying the right amount of tax is a core aspect of corporate responsibility, and the company wants to encourage others to follow its lead in prioritising ethical tax practices.
Affinity Water remains one of the few water companies in the UK to achieve this accreditation, which it says reinforces its position as an industry leader in financial transparency and responsible corporate governance.
Adam Stephens, Chief Financial Officer at Affinity Water, said:
“At a time when trust in businesses is more important than ever, we are proud to once again, achieve the Fair Tax Mark accreditation. This recognition highlights our commitment to transparency, integrity, and ensuring we contribute fairly to the UK economy.”
“As the UK’s largest water-only supplier, we take our responsibility seriously – not just in delivering high-quality water services, but also in how we operate as a business. Our shareholders fully support our approach to fair taxation, and all our activities are fully taxable in the UK. By paying our fair share of tax, we are supporting essential public services and infrastructure, which in turn benefits the communities we serve.”
