“It has been a genuine privilege to work with an inspirational CEO, Lila Thompson, a dedicated team, a professional and committed Board and a growing membership. The organisation is going from strength to strength and it has been a memorable experience.

“We have established the Annual Conference and Spring Reception at the House of Lords as major industry events, have developed a comprehensive programme of activities across the water sector, engaged in thought leadership interviews with the movers and shakers and grown our global activities from Singapore to Stockholm, from Milwaukee to Cairo and from Muscat to Lima.

“This is a pivotal time for the water supply chain to step-up and the whole water sector to work with greater ‘common purpose’, re-building public trust and leading the world in sustainable water management.”

Mark leads the Global Water Business of Arup and has been with the firm for 36 years. He is an international thought leader on sustainable water management, nature-based solutions and water resilience and has worked around the world.

He is on the Organising Committee for Singapore International Water Week and has led the initiative to include Young Water Professionals at Stockholm World Water Week for the last seven years.

He is an Arup Fellow and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Society for the Environment and Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management, a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
