CERAFILTEC appoints Olivier Suter as Chief Operating Officer for next stage of global scale-up

CERAFILTEC, a leader in advanced ceramic membrane filtration technology, has announced the appointment of Olivier Suter as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

The company said this addition to the executive team would strengthen its operational backbone as the company continues its moves into a phase of large-scale project execution and accelerated international growth.

Suter brings over 20 years of executive leadership in global operations, manufacturing, and transformation across the water, energy, and automation sectors. In his new role, Suter will lead the expansion of CERAFILTEC’s production and project delivery capabilities. His mandate includes optimizing operations across the company’s hubs in Germany, the UAE, India, the US, and China, further advancing quality and delivery standards, and preparing the organization to meet growing demand in global markets. His appointment marks a key milestone in CERAFILTEC’s evolution from a technology-driven scale-up to a global industrial leader.

Prior to joining CERAFILTEC, Suter served as COO and Head of Global Operations at Gutor, where he led the post-carve-out industrial transformation of the business, managed production across Switzerland, Malaysia, and China, and implemented a competitive new operations strategy. Earlier, during his 23-year tenure at ABB, he held multiple global leadership roles focused on establishing and scaling manufacturing and engineering operations across Europe and Asia, executing multimillion-dollar projects, and building high-performance teams in complex industrial environments.

“Olivier’s experience in global manufacturing scale-up, cross-border execution, and strategic operations leadership makes him a perfect fit for CERAFILTEC at this pivotal moment,” said Dr. Torsten Wintergerste, CEO of CERAFILTEC. “He will play a vital role in transforming our growing order pipeline into consistent, high-quality project delivery worldwide.”

“I’m excited to join CERAFILTEC at this stage of growth,” said Olivier Suter. “The company’s vision and technology are world-class. My focus will be to ensure we build the operational foundation and production capacity needed to deliver reliably and at scale, wherever clean water is needed.”
