CMA investigates anticipated acquisition by Severn Trent Plc of Andigestion Limited

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced the launch of its merger inquiry into the proposed acquisition by Severn Trent Plc, through its subsidiary Severn Trent Green Power Limited, of Andigestion Limited.

The CMA is considering whether this transaction will result in the creation of a relevant merger situation under the merger provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002 and, if so, whether the creation of that situation may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition.

Andigestion Limited was established in 2004 to develop and commercialise anaerobic digestion as a viable waste-treatment technology and is part of the Summerleaze Group, a leading investor and innovator in the renewable energy sector.
