Water Matters Report ranks Northumbrian Water best for customer service

Northumbrian Water Group has been voted best in the country when it comes to customer service, affordability and trust, according to a new report.

The 2022 Water Matters Report, carried out by the Consumer Council for Water (CCW), has shown that as well as providing the best customer service, Northumbrian Water has also been found to be the best value for money, and the most trusted of all UK water and sewerage companies.

98% of customers surveyed agreed that they were satisfied with their water services, and 85% of households agreed that these were affordable.

The report, which is compiled with surveys taken from members of the public, also scored Northumbrian Water as having the fairest charges.

According to the report, Northumbrian Water ranked top in the following areas:

  • Satisfaction with overall customer service
  • Overall satisfaction with water supply – 98% of customers are satisfied.
  • Satisfied with value for money of water services – 86% of customers are satisfied
  • Agree water and sewerage charges are affordable – 85% of household customers are satisfied.
  • Agree charges are fair – 76% of customers are satisfied.
  • Trust – trust score of 7.81

This achievement further establishes Northumbrian’s reputation for excellent customer experience and service, which has been demonstrated by its performance in the C-MeX measure, where they finished in the top two companies for 2021/2022 and are top of the leader board for the current year at the end of Q2.
