New board appointment at Business Stream

A highly experienced business leader is set to bolster one of the UK’s largest water retailers with her appointment as a Non-Executive Director.

Kate Allum brings nearly three decades of board-level experience across a broad range of companies, with a strong focus on strategic transformation, operational excellence, and sustainability.

Joining Business Stream’s Board, Kate’s appointment comes at a time when the water retailer is focused on delivering its growth strategy, while continuing to embed its purpose-led vision.

Kate said:

“I’ve long believed in the importance of driving responsible, sustainable business practices. Business Stream has a strong track record of combining commercial focus with social impact, and I’m looking forward to supporting the company to continue delivering value for its customers and communities.”

Kate currently holds a range of board positions, including Chair of the University of the West of Scotland, Non-Executive Director at The Co-op, and Chair of The Wild Water Group. Her past executive roles include Chief Executive of both Cedo Ltd and First Milk Ltd, preceded by senior roles at OSI Ltd, McDonalds, Mars Incorporated and Lloyds Bank plc.

Deirdre Michie OBE, Chair of Business Stream, said:

“Kate’s wealth of experience and global perspective make her a tremendous asset to our board. Her insight into supply chains, sustainability and commercial growth will help shape and challenge our thinking as we continue to evolve and grow our business.”
