SES Water achieves gold standard health and safety award

SES Water has achieved a Gold Award for the first time from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The award was given to SES Water, in part, for the way in which it identifies and manages its health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities.

It is the first time SES Water has entered a submission for the award and is the culmination of everything the Company has done in the past ten years to develop its systems, processes and teams. In the past year a dedicated Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee has been set-up to maintain this focus.

The award also recognises the Company’s team of ‘Mental Health First Aiders’ – specially trained employees who are available as a point of contact for any colleagues needing extra support and guidance. The Company’s COVID-19 wellbeing support for employees during the pandemic featured highly in the award submission.

SES Water Quality and Compliance Director, Nicola Houlahan, said: “We’re thrilled to have achieved this award. Health, safety and wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at SES Water and underpins our purpose as a Company that cares for our people, our customers and the community we serve.

“The award is recognition of our long-standing commitment to this important area of the business and I feel very proud to lead a team, which is dedicated to making the Company a safe place to work.”
