SUEZ unveils innovative UK Smart Operations Centre in Maidenhead

SUEZ, a global leader in circular solutions for water and waste, is launching its unique UK Smart Operations Centre (SOC) in Maidenhead.

The company said the cutting-edge facility will reinforce its dedication to smart metering and sustainable solutions, reflecting the increasing deployment of smart metering in the UK.

A leader in smart water metering with more than 7 million smart meters deployed worldwide, SUEZ, through its subsidiary Digital Solutions, has launched this new SOC to provide customers with a simple yet comprehensive, visual representation of the performance of their meters and network assets.

The new digital centre collates and analyses data from smart meters in real time allowing water utilities to proactively and holistically manage the smart metering solution, facilitating the early identification and troubleshooting of performance issues to optimise the performance of the network. It will serve as a hub for monitoring and managing the daily operation of transmitters, receivers, storage servers, and the telecom transmission chain, and will also allow remote maintenance on transmitters and concentrators, such as software updates.

This SOC will enable SUEZ to control the operation and performance of millions of smart water meters in the UK, including ON’connect™, the smart metering range of products developed by SUEZ to help water utilities improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.

Martin Cracknell, Managing Director, SUEZ Digital Solutions UK said:

“Our new Smart Operations Centre in Maidenhead is testament to SUEZ’s commitment to providing our customers with reliable, high-quality performance data. Our team of experts will support UK water utilities by analysing meter readings and monitoring the water network to detect leaks and abnormal consumption in real time.”

The launch of the Maidenhead SOC follows the success of SUEZ’s Smart Operations Centres, including one in Paris, which has been in operation for 10 years and monitors more than 3 million smart meters. These centres are integral to SUEZ’s global commitment to harnessing technology to maximise efficiency and sustainability in the water industry.
