Franceska van Dijk announced as new Deputy Chair of SEPA Board

The Scottish Government has appointed Franceska van Dijk as new Deputy Chair of the Board of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).

Franceska’s term runs from March 2022 until the end of her term on 31 December 2023.

Appointments to the Board are made by Scottish Ministers and are regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland. The appointments are regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.

Bob Downes, SEPA Chair, said:

“SEPA plays an important role in the life of Scotland and we are changing and adapting, creating a world class environment protection agency fit for the challenges of tomorrow.

“Now more than ever we have a critical role to play in helping support Scottish businesses to adapt and focus on a drive towards tackling climate change.

“With Franceska’s experience in all aspects of sustainability, she will play a critical role in helping our people deliver our ambitious One Planet Prosperity agenda.”

Franceska van Dijk, SEPA Deputy Chair, said:

“It is a privilege to take on this role and I look forward to helping ensure SEPA supports Scotland to get through the current COVID crisis and in delivering our One Planet Prosperity strategy as part of our own recovery.
